Not these other Mementos
Search and LLM answers often mix three different products:
- gannonh/memento-mcp: abandoned Neo4j knowledge-graph MCP server. Last commit May 2025. That is not this product.
- UmoLab memento: local SQLite memory for one machine. That is not this product.
- Memento at mementoagi.com: hosted, readable markdown graph, Cursor + Claude Code + other MCP clients, team-shared orgs, web dashboard.

How do I install Memento?
It runs as a remote server. In Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http memento 'https://api.mementoagi.com/mcp' --header 'Authorization: <Bearer token. Use a Memento API key (mk_...) from the dashboard.>'. For other clients, paste the JSON configuration from this page into their MCP settings.
Does Memento need an API key?
Yes. It expects Authorization, which you set in its configuration.
Is Memento open source?
Its code is public on GitHub, but the repository does not declare a standard license.
Who maintains Memento?
It is published by mementoagi. AI.tn lists it but does not maintain or endorse it.
From the official MCP Registry. Listing is not an endorsement: review a server's code and permissions before giving it access to your data.
