Frequently asked questions

What is Optibot?

AI code review for your AI assistant — review local changes, branch diffs, and patch files.

How do I install Optibot?

It runs on your machine. In Claude Code: claude mcp add optibot -e 'OPTIBOT_API_KEY=<your optibot_api_key>' -- npx -y @optimalai/optibot-mcp@1.4.1. For other clients, paste the JSON configuration from this page into their MCP settings.

Does Optibot need an API key?

Yes. It expects OPTIBOT_API_KEY, which you set in its configuration.

Who maintains Optibot?

It is published by ai.getoptimal. AI.tn lists it but does not maintain or endorse it.

From the official MCP Registry. Listing is not an endorsement: review a server's code and permissions before giving it access to your data.
